is for QUOTES

"You never have to be alone in defending your ideas - quote others who agree!"

-Linnaea Mallette

You've lots of friends you can call upon to back up you up! Sharing WOWs (words of wisdom) spoken by others are authoritative, enforce your point and can offer inspiration. (As an additional tip – it seems the longer the person has been dead, the more punch!)

With the Internet and search engines like Google, you never have to be without the perfect "WOW" to reinforce your message.

One of my very favorite resources for quotes is Brian Johnson's Philosophers Notes. Brian has devised a means by which you can have easy access to the biggest ideas from 100 of the most influential books on personal growth in 20 minutes or less via PDF & audio summary.

Additional uses

Here are some ideas I culled from Tom Antion's book titled, Wake 'Em Up!:

  • Have a funny statement projected on the screen before a presentation begins can make participants take notice and build their anticipation of your presentation.
  • Leave the audience quiet and thoughtful by citing a touching phrase to close your presentation.

  • Have a pithy one-liner that makes the same point as a story, in case your time is cut.
